The Vodafone Wellington Lions will be aiming for top rugby honours in the 2010 ITM Cup national provincial rugby competition (formerly the Air New Zealand Cup).
The ITM Cup is where the nation's top teams battle it out to be top dog in New Zealand rugby. It kicks off on 1 August and plays over 15 weeks, with the final on 5 November. It is a full round robin with all teams playing each other and hosting either six or seven home matches.
In March 2010 it was announced that the Air New Zealand Cup would be renamed the ITM Cup with the addition of building supplies franchise ITM as the major sponsor. The change came because Air New Zealand chose to concentrate their rugby sponsorship on the All Blacks.
