Warren Barclay, Managing Director:
Warren Barclay is the Managing Director of the Experience Group. Warren has been involved in commercial sports for the past seven years through Capital Events Limited, Lions Hospitality 2005 Limited and now SML. Capital Events Limited, previously part owned and operated by Warren, was set up in 1999 to provide event management and corporate hospitality services to Auckland Rugby, Wellington Rugby, Waikato Rugby, NZ International Sevens and the New Zealand Rugby Union.
Justin Ellis, Sales & Marketing Manager:
Justin Ellis was recruited in 2003 as the Capital Events Sales Manager. Justin lead the sales programme of the corporate hospitality packages for all contracted unions as well as managed the overall sales programme (46,000 guests) for the Lions Tour hospitality programme in 2005. Justin left Capital Events in March 2006.
Justin has previously worked in marketing roles for Manawatu Rugby and the Central Vikings rugby franchise.
Mike Marsden, Business Development Manager:
Mike Marsden has worked with a wide variety of clients over many years, assisting them with their corporate hospitality and event requirements. This has most recently been through his own company, Capture NZ. With sales, marketing and business development roles at Premier Hospitality, Corporate Host and Lions Hospitality Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and experience having been involved in the corporate hospitality industry since 2002.
Simon Watson, Account Manager:
Simon Watson is the latest addition to the team and has come from a long history in sports retail, most recently being his role as General Manager of R and R Sport Auckland.
Simon has a double major degree in Marketing and Property Management and Valuation from Massey University.
He brings a real passion for sports to the team and often be found out and about taking part in any number of different sports.
Stacy Hyland, Events & Conferences Manager:
Stacy has worked in the corporate events industry for over 6 years both here and in Australia. Stacy has managed events as small as 10 through to exhibitions with over 30,000 guests. Her previous roles have provided strong organisational skills and onsite management experience. She brings strong events and administration knowledge to the team.
Emily Thomas, Events & Operations Manager:
Emily is a recent graduate from the University of Auckland with a double degree in Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise. Whilst at school and university Emily has particpated in and coached rowing to a high level including winning national titles.
Emily brings keen organisational skills and an eye for detail in delivering successful events for our clients.
Mat Kenny, Finance Manager:
Mat has recently returned to live New Zealand after spending six years abroad working in London and is one of the newest members of the Experience Group team. Whilst overseas he held a variety of financial and accounting positions with Accenture, Ernst & Young and most recently with Balfour Beatty Capital. Mat has a Business Studies degree from Massey University and has a keen interest in sports and travelling.
